Chandigarh,
10 January, 2019
After
winning recent Assembly elections in three states, the Indian National Congress
(INC) seems to leave no stone unturned to ensure its victory for upcoming
political battles in the country, that is why the party has fielded its media
in-charge and heavyweight Randeep Singh Surjewala for coming by-election for
Jind Assembly in Haryana.
In
a late night development, the Congress left the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) and all the opposing parties stunned by announcing the former Haryana
minister as its candidate for the by-election to be held on January 28.
Presently,
a Congress legislator from Kaithal Assembly segment, Randeep is considered to
be a game changer for the coming by-election to be held in ‘Jatland’ of
Haryana, so far is taken as a stronghold of the state’s principal opposition
party, INLD.
The
ruling BJP has fielded Krishan Midda as its candidate for the said by-election.
He is son of Harichand Midda, a two-time INLD MLA from Jind.
The
said assembly seat got vacated after the death of Harichand Midda. His son then
joined the BJP.
