Chautala condemns Khattar’s remark on privatisation of transport

Chandigarh: Leader of Opposition and senior Indian
National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Singh Chautala has condemned the statement
of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar wherein he reportedly had claimed
that privatization of transport would be beneficial for the people of the state
since they would provide better transportation and facilities to the public.
Chautala noted with
dismay that the Chief Minister had also claimed that the privatization of
education and health had led to great improvement in their quality.
He said, “It is obvious
that since the BJP represented and worked for the rich, it could not appreciate
the fate of the vast population of the state that still pins its hope on a
government to provide them good healthcare and education.”
Chautala further alleged that
the attitude of the BJP government was anti poor and pro rich and that is why
the poor were below the radar of this party and the government was encouraging
the private sector in important fields like health, education and transport.
“This explains why
Manohar Lal Khattar-led government has deliberately failed to utilize the
services of the competent staff in health, education and transport. The apathy
of the government in holding meaningful dialogue with the roadways unions is
designed to further the agenda of privatization, which is regrettable. Even at
this stage it is not too late to hold discussions with employees of the roadways
and reach at an amicable agreement,” he said.
