Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader and Hisar Parliamentarian Dushyant Chautala on Monday raised the issues pertaining employees and farmers including pension scheme and debt waiver in Parliament.
Speaking in Lok Sabha on Monday, he said that the new pension scheme(NPS) has not worked very well.
Seeking scrapping of NPS, Chautala advocated reversal to the old pension scheme saying that government employees were facing worst crisis due to NPS under which defined minimum pension or family pension was no more guaranteed for those employees who came in government service on or after 2004.
He said, “Under the provisions of NPS, a sum of money is being deducted every month from the salary of employees and an equal amount is being given by government following which the final sum of money is being handled by national securities depository limited which invests this money in the share market hence they have no social security as earlier the employees had.”
The NPS is a defined contribution scheme and not a defined benefit scheme. There is no Government guarantee of returns. The returns generated in case of NPS are market-linked and hence, any rate of return cannot be guaranteed, he added.
Highlighting the plight of farmers, Chautala also asked the Union government to waive the debt of farmers as they have got trapped in the vicious cycle of debts.
Referring to debt waiving announcements by many Congress rules states, he sought unconditional loan waiver for farmers.
Moreover, speaking on water crisis in Haryana, Dushyant Chautala also urged the Centre for grand of additional funds for the proposed Renuka dam so that the people residing in dark zones of the state, could have a sigh of relief.
Apart from this, Chautala also demanded from the Centre to bring a law to regularize the services of guest teachers who are working for several years.
He also stressed upon improving the quality of education in primary schools saying that without focusing on primary level, higher education could not be improved.
The Parliamentarian further stated that computer education was ‘need of hour’ for students.
Alleging pathetic condition of health services, he strongly demanded the complete makeover of government hospitals and its services as the poor people are totally depended on the government health institutions.
