Farmers lathicharged in Haryana’s Kurukshetra

Farmers protesting against Centre’s farm ordinances were dealt with sticks by the police in Haryana’s Kurukshetra on Thursday.

The Police restored to lathicharge to disperse the farmers who were protesting under the umbrella of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) opposing the Centre’s farm ordinances terming it “anti-farmers”.

 

 

Agitating farmers were lathicharged by the police near Pipli chowk.

The police claimed that the protesters blocked the national highway and pelted stone on government vehicles.

Farmers were gathered in Kurukshetra to participate in a rally organized to support farmers’ rights and opposing Centre’s agri ordinances.

Congress leaders including former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and senior party leader Randeep Singh Surjewala have condemned the police action against the protesting farmers.
