Haryana govt implements stringent measures for fair conduct of Group-D CET Exam

CM conducts high-level meeting with DCs and SPs to discuss examination preparations

798 examination centers established across 17 districts

With a view to ensure the successful and unfair means free conduct of the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the recruitment of 13,536 Group D posts in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar presided over a high-level meeting through video conferencing with Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Range IGs and Superintendents of Police here on Thursday to review the comprehensive preparations for the upcoming examination.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister issued firm directives to all officers, emphasizing that recruiting based on merit is the government’s primary objective. Therefore, it is imperative that the examination proceeds without any disruptions and this responsibility falls on all of us.

The CET examination for Group D posts is scheduled for October 21 and 22, 2023 and will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).  A total of 13,75,151 candidates have registered for this examination. The CET examination will be held at 798 examination centers across 17 districts of the state including Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Kaithal, Hisar, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Palwal, Narnaul, and Rewari as well as Chandigarh.

Approximately 3.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination.

In his directives, CM Khattar emphasized the need for a comprehensive revamp of the staff deployment at the examination centers to prevent incidents like paper leaks, unauthorized access, copying or impersonation. To achieve this, he said that staff deployment remain undisclosed even to the staff themselves, ensuring they are unaware of their examination center until the last moment. In addition, candidates should be identified at the examination centers through technologies like biometric and face authentication.
