Haryana police arrest two for smuggling 200 kg opium leftover

Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has arrested two persons on the charges of smuggling 200 kg of doda post (opium leftover) from a truck in district Sirsa. 

The accused were transporting the narcotic substance from Rajasthan by hiding it behind the bags of garlic.
          
While stating this here on Monday, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused have been identified as driver and owner of truck Shishpal, a resident of Bahia and Jitender Singh alias Kala of Kussar. He said that both the accused have been arrested after getting specific information about smuggling of narcotics.
          
Divulging the details, he said that CIA team during patrolling has got specific inputs concerned with the smuggling of narcotic substance. Acting on this, a truck coming from Rawatsar side was intercepted at a blockade. When searched, the police team recovered 10 bags of doda post (200 kg) hidden beneath garlic bags.
          
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against both the accused in Ellenabad Police Station. Accused would be taken on remand by producing them in the court so that involvement of others in this racket of drug peddling could be unearthed, he added.
