Haryana police nabs Nigerian with heroin worth Rs 12 Crore

The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police have arrested a Nigerian national from DLF, Gurugram and recovered 3.2 kg heroin from his possession.

A spokesperson of Haryana Police said that the value of seized drug in international market is around Rs 12 Crore.

He said that the arrested accused was identified as Taraour Ahmed, a resident of Nigeria. Currently residing in Delhi, he was arrested following a tip-off by a team of STF Hisar from Sikandarpur Metro Station area in Gurugram.

A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered against him at DLF-2 Police Station, Gurugram. The Accused would be taken on police remand by producing him in the Court so that name of supplier involved in this racket of drug peddling could be unearthed.     

Meanwhile, Director General of Police (DGP), BS Sandhu appreciated DIG STF, Sateesh Balan and his team for intensifying efforts to crackdown on drug-peddlers and criminals in the state. It may be recalled that DGP had already directed the Police to completely crush the menace of drug peddling and its distribution network in the state.
