Polish man held in Haryana with opium, charas

Haryana Police has arrested a Poland national from Gurugram and recovered 345 gram opium and 4.285 kg charas from his possession.

An official spokesperson of the said that arrested accused was identified as Patryak, 28, a resident of Poland.

Divulging the details, he said that a team of DLF Phase-1 police station, during patrolling, had spotted two suspicious youth, which suddenly started run away after seeing police. The alert police chased and nabbed one person at a short distance whereas another youth managed to escape after throwing a bag.

Upon searching, police has recovered 345 gram opium from arrested accused and 4.285 kg charas from the bag thrown by another accused. The arrested Poland resident failed to produce passport and Visa.

During preliminary interrogation, arrested accused revealed that he had come to India on tourist visa 7-8 months ago. He came to know that there are many places in Himachal Pradesh where a large number of foreign nationals come and stay for long periods and intoxicants also becomes available on cheap rates. Then he went to Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. He stayed there in different places. During this period, he came in contact with Kazi, a resident of Kullu (the accused who had managed to flee) who is also addicted to drugs. Arrested accused is a musician and performs in parties. In Delhi, he has performed live music in many parties.

When all his money was spent his partner told him that they can earn more money by sale of narcotics in Delhi at an expensive price to meet their expenses.

A case under relevant sections of NDPS and Foreigners Act was registered against him. Efforts were on to nab another accused and further investigation is under progress.
