Surjewala announces 10-point agenda for poors in Haryana, promises subsidised flour, lentils, sugar

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Communications in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala on Sunday announced the 10-point programme for welfare of the poor and the scheduled castes (SCs) in Haryana.
While addressing Gareeb Adhikaar Rally at Jind, Surjewala also promised ‘Aatta-Daal Aur Chini Scheme’ for SC families and monthly scholarship to all SC students, if the Congress is elected to power in Haryana.
On forming government in Haryana, the Congress party would provide 20 Kg flour at the rate of Rs 2 per kg, 2 Kg pulses at the rate of Rs 20 per Kg, 1 kg sugar at the rate of Rs 12 per Kg to all 15 Lakh Dalit families, he added.
Surjewala said, “Congress government will waive off all pending water bills of Indira Gandhi Drinking Water Scheme, appointing one SC member in Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), filling up of 60,000 vacancies in the state government clearing backlog in one year, abrogation of contract practice for Safai Karmcharis, constitution of SC Commission with one member each from Dhanak and Oadh communities, survey of all SC localities for ensuring one toilet for each SC household and repair of all SC Chaupals in the state.”

The senior Congress leader also announced that the Congress party would provide Rs 1500 as monthly scholarship to all SC students studying in Graduation, Post-Graduation courses while Rs 2500 as monthly scholarship to all SC engineering students and Rs 5000 as monthly scholarship to all SC students doing MBBS  and studying in IITs & IIMs.
It was always the Congress government which has served and cared for poor and scheduled castes, said the former Haryana minister.
Accusing the ruling BJP of making false poll promises, Surjewala said that big promises were made by the BJP before the elections but none of them have been fulfilled. He also charged the BJP governments for allegedly betraying and duping the poor, the scheduled castes and people longing to other deprived sections.
