Congress spokesperson’s murder: ‘financial dispute appears motive behind murder’

Arresting two accused in connection with the murder of Congress spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary that led high voltage political drama in Haryana, the state police has claimed that the financial dispute appears motive behind the said murder.

Haryana Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law & Order, Navdeep Singh Virk has tweeted a press release wherein it has been revealed that after initial interrogation, prima facie, it appears that the motive behind the murder is financial dispute.

According to an official spokesperson, the crime branch of Faridabad police has arrested two accused including one woman, both are from Gurugram.

The arrested accused have also procured and made available the weapons used for firing.

Chaudhary was shot dead in Faridabad on Thursday morning.

Following the murder, the Congress had hit out at Manohar Lal Khattar government with many Congress leaders including former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, party’s Chief Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala and Haryana unit chief Ashok Tanwar targeting Khattar government for the alleged crime incidents in the state.

However, later on, the state police disclosed that Vikas Chaudhary had a criminal background and 13 FIRs of extortion, kidnapping, attempt to murder etc were registered against him since 2007 in Haryana and UP.
